The Chef-titian

Hello long lost blogging world!  I wanted to update my followers as much has changed since Chef Esque came to life.  I am now a Registered Dietitian and pursuring my Master of Science in Nutrition.  I still LOVE all things nutrition and culinary!  I recently entered the fascinating, thrilling, and joyous world of mommyhood!  My husband and I welcomed our beautiful and precious little girl, Elin, on leap day this past year.  She has made our world so beautiful and she adds so much love to our family.  This blog will continue to serve as a creative outlet for me and also a place I can encourage others to love food and all of it's nutritional benefits.  Food is a gift and we often taken it for granted by abusing it and sometimes even hating it (because of what it can do to our bodies).  As with anything in life we must not love the gift more than the giver.  I am blessed to have access to food and the ability to enjoy it in a way that promotes health!

Little Chef-titian

Hello my name is Jenna Little and I am a 22 year old visionary. Once you comprehend that aspect of me you will appreciate the title I have chosen to sign my blog with, Little Chef-titian.

Chef-titian was a title I created for myself. I am not a professionally trained chef but I do possess a passion for all things culinary. The suffix is derived from my future title as a dietitian.

I am currently in the process of becoming a Registered Dietitian by completing a distance dietetic internship through Utah State University. Being able to embark on this leg of the journey is a huge accomplishment in my life. I received my Bachelor of Science from East Carolina University as my second degree to my Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies. Staying in school for five years to complete my desired degree was well worth it. Similarly to my passion for culinary is my passion for nutrition. To me they go hand in hand. Food is an integral part of all stages of the life cycle therefore making nutrition imperative. Some have chosen to neglect one or the other but I have discovered that in order to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle these are two peas in a pod (along with physical activity of course).

As I continue to discover my gifts and talents I have too uncovered my love for food writing. This blog has been a much needed outlet to express and share my creativity, thoughts, and knowledge.

Interacting with people is crucial to my make-up. My aspirations to become a dietitian stemmed from my desire to help others learn how to live a healthy life. As I look around me I am reminded of the digressing statistics about the health of our nation. Educating others on how to eat and ENJOY food without feeling guilty or damaging their health is my mission. This blog is one resource that I hope helps accomplishes this goal by inspiring others to desire a high quality of life. Unlike much of the information you receive about food through media, this is accurate and comes straight from my education.

I hope you enjoy this blog and make it a regular part of your social networking and media resources. Thank you for opening your ears to Chef Esque.
